Band Notes will include important reminders for the current week (rehearsals, performances, etc.) and will highlight what happened in the previous week. Fall is a crazy time of year for our Titans – this is a great way to stay on top of the what/where/whens of your Titan Band & Guard!
Marching Season has BEGUN! We are kicking off the season with our Annual Premier Performance and Pot Luck this Saturday, 8/29. This is an exciting event to come and meet the band, director, instructors, ABBA board, and of course – other band parents! The pot luck starts at 5:00pm, followed by a band performance to show off the field show your student has learned so far! Bring your chairs or a blanket and join us for a picnic-style pot luck.
This event is at Woodcreek High School (click here for directions), immediately following the full ensemble rehearsal.

2015-16 Spirit Wear orders are happening now! Initial Orders are due 8/31/2015. Download form and turn into the ABBA box in the band room with check made out to “ABBA”. There will be additional items, including the sweatshirt, available in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

Incoming marching students will need to order marching shoes and gloves. Any ongoing students who have outgrown their items or lost them, will need to place an order also. Shoes run about 1/2 size small. If kid is a true size 7, maybe order a 7.5 or an 8. They can wear two pair of socks.
Gloves- they run pretty true to size. If your kid has a large hand, consider a large or XL. XS is for really tiny hands. Most kids are med or large. They can ask older students if still not sure.

Put order form and payments into a sealed envelope with your student’s name on outside and “shoe/glove order” on outside.
Make checks payable to ABBA, write “shoe/glove order” and your student’s name on check.
Place envelope into the ABBA mailbox located in the band room by end of Friday, August 21st.
Forms are not to be given to any student or Ms. Mello.
Group order will be placed on 8/22. If you miss the deadline, contact Ellen at firstname.lastname@example.org immediately.
If you are unable to purchase items, please let Ms. Mello know before Friday, Aug 21. We have loaners if needed.
Today, Our Titan Band & Guard was recognized by CA Senator Nielsen’s Office at the CA Senate Floor Resolution Presentation. Our Director, Sonora Mello was accompanied by our 2015-16 Drum Majors: Sephira Olson, Jesbaam Sanchez, and Katelyn Addison, to be presented this prestigious award. Also in attendance was Principal John Becker and Superintendent, Ron Severson.

The Antelope Lions Club is excited to welcome us for our first AMBUSH! of this year – this Saturday, 8/15/2015!
The AHS Band and Guard will be marching through the 15th Annual Community Garage Sale in the Antelope Marketplace Shopping Center (OSH/Winco)!
Here are the Event Details:
- Wear Titan Red and blue or black pants.
- Instrument should be ready to go – leave cases in the car (there will not be anywhere to keep them safe when we step off.)
- Call Time: 9:30am– Drop off students behind OSH, near the OSH pick up area.
- 10:00am –Band will “step-off” to march through the parking lot sale. Over 80 local businesses, community organizations, and homeowners participate in this annual Antelope event!
- Please do NOT walk alongside the band. Since this is AMBUSH! style, we will be “surprising” most of the patrons at this event and space will be tight! We will have volunteers in place to “clear the way” for our Titan Band to make their way through our neighbors – please find a spot to stop and take pictures – we would love to see them!
- 11:00am– Pick up students at the same drop off location (behind OSH.)

NOTE: Please do not park along the side of OSH. There is space behind the building, or drop your student and park out front to enjoy the community event while you wait for the AMBUSH! Carpooling is strongly recommended.

The 2015-16 Antelope Band Boosters Association (ABBA) invites YOU to join us for our first ABBA Membership Meeting – Thursday, 8/13/15 in the band room at Antelope High School.
Festivities begin at 6:30pm with Band Orientation (open to all years), followed immediately by an ABBA Membership Welcome Party (Meeting) to include:
